With graduation season in full swing, what better way to celebrate than with an awesome cake or cupcakes.
Whether you are graduating from Kindergarten, High school or College here are a few ideas that will guarantee to make your party a memorable event, Hats off to all the graduates!!
Graduation cakes come in numerous designs but some of the most popular cakes are when they are designed like a stack of books with a cap, tassel and diploma rolled on top.

A simpler design is just the graduation cap with a tassel hanging down including the year of graduation.

You may want to get a little fancier and incorporate the school’s color in a tiered shaped cake. Graduation cakes may carry other designs such as stripes, polka dots, stars or ribbons.

If the graduate is graduating with any honors edible emblems or logos may also be included on the cake to represent the prestigious honor. Alternatively, Black is a popular color to use as its universal or if the celebration is for a boy or girl, shades of pink or blue can be incorporated into the design as well.

If you are having a large crowd, cupcakes may be a great alternative to cake as it’s convenient and easy to clean up. You can easily shape the cupcakes into the year the graduate is graduating, the school’s initials or even the graduate’s name or initials.

You can also add little accessories to jazz up your cupcakes. Wilton sells cupcakes toppers that you include pictures of the graduate or a cap and tassel on the top of the cupcake.

To show you how simple it is to make an awesome graduation cupcake design here is a simple design recipe.
- What you will need
- 12 frosted cupcakes
- 12 mini peanut butter cups
- 12 chocolate squares
- 12 plain M&M’s or skittles (pick color of choice)
- 4- Pull a part pieces of licorice separated and cut into 3 inches to make a tassel.
- Make your favorite cupcakes and frosting accordingly.
- If you need a cupcake recipe try my very vanilla cupcake. If you have time to make your own cupcakes, go ahead and just some from the store. The great part is the topper will be DIY and special for such a momentous occasion.
- Place a peanut butter cup upside down on the frosting
- Place a small amount of chocolate frosting on a chocolate square and then attach it to the peanut butter cup
- Cut a small piece, about 3 inches long, of one strand of the pull a part licorice
- Pinch one end to flatten it
- Place one piece of red candy on top of the flatten edge of licorice and secure it to the top of the chocolate square with a small amount of chocolate frosting.
