The Baby Shark song has been on constant rotation in our household and it’s not surprising that these catchy lyrics are fun and place a smile on any toddler’s face.

For this blog, we will be incorporating Baby Shark on to a birthday cake.

What better way to celebrate your child’s favorite song than creating it into an awesome birthday cake for their special day.

Baby Shark Cake

To create this cake, we will be using three six-inch round pans. I used my vanilla cake recipe for the batter.  To incorporate the sea into the cake I decided to color the batter blue to create an ombre effect.

I evenly divided the batter making the batter lighter in color before placing it into the coated round pan for baking.

Once the cakes are baked and cooled, evenly stack each cake on top of each other using American buttercream.

I covered this entire cake with light blue fondant and created sea themed fondant cake decorations, to use throughout the cake.

Using the ocean theme fondant silicone molds, I purchased on Amazon to create a water wave border as well as coral, starfishes, and seashells.

Tools

To make sure Baby Shark shined as the star of this cake, I purchased a baby shark cookie cutter from JB Cookie Cutter to make sure it came out perfect and even.

I created the fondant piece a few days in advance and allowed them to dry accordingly before placing all the fondant decorations on the cake. I wanted to give the illusion that the cake was surrounded by sand.

I used light brown sugar and spread it evenly around the base of the cake. Next, I delicately placed the fondant pieces around the sides of the cake and on the base.

Conclusion

Overall, this cake was a joy to make, I had so much fun using all the different colorful fondant pieces. What an adorable cake for any toddler girl or boy.
